Jacob Lind is a Senior Lecturer, Malmö University and the principal investigator of the project. In his free time he hangs out with family and friends. Sometimes you find him behind the drum kit.

Researchers
Maud van der Hulst is a PhD student at Malmö University and is responsible for the Dutch case study in the project. Previously she worked as a social worker in various refugee shelters. Salsa dancing and solidarity across borders bring her joy.
Research interns
Rebecka Cromdal is a master’s student at the International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER) programme at Malmö University who will be interning on the project between September 2026 and January 2027. Rebecka has several years’ experience working as a local civil servant specializing in disability care. She is conducting a media analysis of the Swedish and UK contexts for the project. Apart from seaside walks, she spends her spare time knitting, cold-bathing and cuddling her cat.
Margherita Bini completed an internship at the Malmö Institute for Migration Studies from April to June 2026 finalising her law degree at the University of Florence.
Her work in the project resulted in an extensive blog post on the legal situation in Italy.
